Busy times at St. Andrew's!
Over the past two weeks, our children have been involved in some fantastic learning experiences, in and out of the classroom. Trips to Alexandra Palace, immersive Music and Science workshops, a STEM day at Chace Community, a singing performance, story cafes, a Chess Competition and a trip to Tolmers Activity Centre. All of this plus our amazing Summer Sizzle, a general election and the Euros 2024!
With only just over a week to go, it doesn't look like things are slowing down. The Year 6 have their end of year performances next week, as well as their Leavers' Service at the church. We also look forward to Y2 folk dancing on the field, Meet the Teacher transition sessions and a possible final football match.

Summer Sizzle
We would like to congratulate every person who helped set up the fair, bought a raffle ticket, took part in the activities, spent money on the day or helped with the clearing up - you have all contributed to a wonderful day and a fantastic total!
A special mention to members of the PTA, who started organising this weeks and weeks ago. Selin, our Chair of the PTA has done an amazing job in recruiting some very dedicated parents. Also, to the staff and governors for their efforts on stalls and clear up. Well done to every individual who ran a stall, cooked a burger or helped with the live music.
You have helped to turn a summer drizzle into the best SUMMER SIZZLE ever!

Year 4 trip to Tolmers Activity Centre
This week, we sent our Year 4 children to Tolmers Activity Centre for a fun day of outdoor adventurous activity. Despite the drizzly weather, the children were well -prepared and got stuck in to all the activities. A particular favourite was the archery! Great teamwork and perseverance was shown and it was lovely to see all the children having such fun. Thank you to the Year 4 team and other staff for accompanying the children and to Mrs Andrews in the office, for sorting all the lifts.

They also enjoyed taking part in a variety of workshops, including Tea Cake Challenge, VR Headset Roller Coaster ride and the Planetarium. Well done to all our pupils and a big thank you to Ms Lawal for organising the event.

Chess Tournament - Pupils V Parents
Today, our Year 6 Chess Club pupils took on five parents and a grandparent in a thrilling morning of Chess. The children played with determination and confidence, as did the adults. However, in the end, the parents were crowned overall winners, with Zach and Adam's dad winning the final. A huge thank you to the parents of Alex, Ted, Zach and Adam and Harry's grandad in Y6, Suvir's dad in Year 5 and Theo's mum in Y2.
